Because my bloodlines
A perfect score.

A champion sire
A champion dam,
Such high hopes
For this little man.

At the yearling sale
My price went overboard.
The highest bid
The richest man
Bought me from
My breeders’ hand.

I am loved

The trainer’s barn
Can be endured.
The early days
The perfect track
My wonderful groom
And funky tack.

I’m racing now.
Purses are my owners reward.
I start to slow
My pace gets weak
My latest race
Ended in defeat.

I was loved

My failing speed
Has sealed my fate.
The auction barn
The smell of blood
The Kill Buyers
There is no hope.

I am so scared
I am to die

Then I see
This real kind eye.
The gentle hands
The loving face.
I have been found
By AMAZING GRACE.
